What is Juvéderm Vollure® XC?
Juvéderm Vollure® XC is the newest addition to the Juvéderm® family of dermal fillers. It was developed as an extension of the original Juvéderm® product, Juvéderm® XC. Vollure® was approved by the FDA in March 2017.
Where is Juvéderm Vollure® XC used?
When you consider that the original Juvéderm XC is intended to fill smile, marionette, and parentheses lines, it would seem that Vollure® is redundant. But Vollure® is specifically formulated for moderate to deep creases and wrinkles in these areas. It adds more volume to address these deeper depressions.
How is Vollure® different from the other fillers in the Juvéderm® line?
Juvéderm®, which along with Restylane, are the world’s two most popular dermal fillers, was the first to keep expanding the product line with products intended for very specific areas. For instance, Juvéderm ® Ultra XC was developed to add volume to the lips, plumping and filling them out. Then Juvéderm Volbella® XC was created to add subtle volume to the lips for less showy results. Juvéderm Vollure® XC is specifically intended to treat moderate to deep lines and creases around the nose and mouth. These demand more volume than, say, lip lines. Juvéderm Vollure® XC uses Vycross crosslinking, which is also used in Volbella® and Voluma®. This technology minimizes any swelling when Vollure® is injected.
How long will my results last with Juvéderm Vollure® XC?
This new Juvéderm® addition is the longest-lasting hyaluronic acid filler on the market — it returns volume for up to 18 months. The next longest-lasting hyaluronic acid fillers provide results for about one year.
