One of the First and Still One of the Best

facelift

When most people think of cosmetic surgery it’s much more common and normal today than just 10 or 15 years ago. Prior to that, people would often just disappear for awhile and come back after recovering from procedures like breast augmentation or a facelift.

It seems funny now — today many people actually tell everyone what they’re going to do beforehand — but there was a stigma of sorts with “having a little something done.”

The facelift was one of the earliest cosmetic procedures because it’s never been popular to have a sagging, aging countenance. Dr. Lipton performs many facelifts for patients from Lewisville and all the surrounding areas, and it continues to be a very satisfying procedure.

Long ago

Clinically known as rhytidectomy for “wrinkle” + “excision” in Ancient Greek, the first documented facelift surgery was in Berlin in 1901. There, an elderly Polish female aristocrat asked a surgeon, Dr. Eugen Hollander, to “lift her cheeks and the corners of her mouth.”

The facelift was born.

What a facelift addresses

If you have the following issues with facial aging, a facelift could benefit you:

  • Deep creases under the eyes
  • Deep nasolabial folds
  • Jowls due to sagging muscles
  • Midface sagging
  • Loose skin and fat under the chin and jaw
  • Sagging areas of fat

Despite the name facelift, these surgeries don’t address the brow, eyelids, nose, and much of the upper midface. To address these areas the patient either needs a brow lift or eyelid surgery.

Different methods

Dr. Lipton has extensive experience with a variety of facelift methods, from the traditional facelift to the SMAS facelift to the mini facelift. He weighs the needs of each patient before deciding on the techniques that will provide the most natural looking results depending on the patient’s unique aging characteristics.

Do you want to turn back the clock from 10-15 years? A facelift with Dr. Lipton will do that. Call us at (972) 420-0023 to schedule a consultation.
