Improving Your Skin the Pixel Way

Fractional resurfacing sounds like an oxymoron. How could you resurface Lewisville’s Mill Street if you only resurfaced a “fraction” of it, right?

Ah, such is the beauty of fractional resurfacing at Dr. Lipton’s. We DO only impact a fraction of the skin surface to initiate wholesale collagen renewal beneath. If only street resurfacing were so easy!

For our fractional resurfacing we use Pixel® laser technology from Alma. Pixel® resurfacing takes years off your facial skin and stimulates new collagen production.

What does Pixel resurfacing treat?

Our Pixel® fractional resurfacing addresses issues with the tone and texture of your skin:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Large pores
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven pigmentation

Compared to CO2 lasers

Our Pixel® laser used for these treatments is the most advanced laser used today for superficial skin resurfacing. It offers dramatic results without the risk and excessive downtime of CO2 lasers and deep chemical peels. With Pixel® resurfacing, complete healing takes just a few days. Compare that with up to 30 days with CO2 laser treatments and aggressive peels.

How does it work?

Pixel® fractional resurfacing works on the premise of addressing only fractions of the skin. The Pixel® laser creates thousands of microscopic perforations down into the dermis, the skin’s second layer. The skin surrounding each of these microscopic holes is untouched, so it helps heal the adjacent perforations very quickly, usually in just a few hours.

Two types of results

This treatment at Dr. Lipton’s delivers two types of results. Within seven to 10 days you’ll see improvements in your skin texture and pigment. This is a result of the tiny wounds and the skin’s repair mechanisms. Beyond those initial results, improvement will continue for up to three months as the body produces new collagen as a reaction to the “perceived” wounds created by the laser. Even though the surface perforations are healed almost immediately, the body continues to produce collagen for months in response. Collagen is the skin’s natural structural support network; its production drops as we age.

Afterwards

Your skin will feel as if it is sunburned immediately after your Pixel® resurfacing session. The redness and slight swelling will pass within three days. Gentle peeling will also probably occur and last the same amount of time. Beyond that, you’re on your way to better-looking skin without any additional recovery. Just be sure to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your rebuilding skin.
