AquaGold Treatment in Lewisville, TX

What Is AquaGold?

AquaGold is a combination of microneedling and mesotherapy all rolled into one convenient, effective treatment. Mesotherapy is a popular skin rejuvenation treatment with the principle of inserting active, medical grade ingredients into a layer of tissue called the mesoderm. This is the middle layer of skin in which collagen and elastin are produced, and where they combine in a matrix that supports firm, glowing, youthful skin.

Traditional mesotherapy involves multiple injections of active ingredients such as plant extracts, enzymes, peptides, and vitamins to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. AquaGold simplifies the process by delivering nutritional ingredients through a tip of 20 gold-plated needles that are only about as thick as a strand of hair.

The gold-plated microneedles are highly biocompatible with human tissue. This means there is no risk of allergic reaction to the needles and no irritation caused by them. Beneath the pure gold plating is surgical grade stainless steel, which gives integrity to each and every ultra-thin needle. AquaGold microneedling boosts collagen and immediately addresses the signs of aging with no downtime.

How AquaGold Works

AquaGold gold-plated needles penetrate the uppermost layer of the skin, creating micro-wounds that incite a collagen-building response in the immune system. These needles reach a depth of 600 microns beneath the skin’s surface. This is the ideal depth for the insertion of vitamins, nano-peptides, stem cells, or other ingredients. In combination, the micro-channels created by the needles and the introduction of specially-formulated solutions improve the structure and quality of the skin. Over time, improvements continue as cellular regeneration in the deeper layers of tissue is better-supported.

The serum included in AquaGold treatment is decided by the patient, and may even include dermal filler substances like hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin.

What Makes AquaGold Different?

AquaGold’s secret is a handpiece with a tip made up of 20 gold-plated microneedles. Each of these needles is about the width of a human hair. They are made of steel for strength and then are coated with 24-karat gold for easy penetration into the skin. For every AquaGold treatment at Dr. Stuart Lipton’s we use a new tip, ensuring the needles are sterile and free from any impurities.

The AquaGold handpiece is moved across the skin surface and the needles move up and down. They reach a depth of 600 microns, which is the ideal depth for insertion of the various ingredients that will fortify the skin. This depth penetrates the epidermis (the skin’s outer layer) and enters the dermis (the skin’s second layer). The needles provide microneedling, while at the same time introducing vitamins, peptides, stem cells, and other beneficial ingredients.

Candidates For AquaGold Treatment

Adults who are interested in reducing the appearance of fine lines, sunspots, and other evidence of sun damage and generally improve the appearance and texture of their skin are usually excellent candidates for AquaGold treatment.

Are There Side Effects With AquaGold?

AquaGold is basically advanced microneedling with the addition of delivering various nutrients and skin boosters directly into the dermis. These are safe procedures. The FDA has approved AquaGold, and our patients love their results.

Do AquaGold Treatments Hurt?

Although the prospect of 20 microscopic needles penetrating your skin sounds painful, the reality is that AquaGold is a very comfortable procedure. Topical numbing is not required.

The Serums You Can Have Injected By The AquaGold Microneedles

What makes AquaGold such an intriguing treatment is its ability to be completely customized to match the patient’s needs. That’s because the patient can choose what they want delivered directly into the dermis layer of the skin by AquaGold’s 20-gold plated microneedles.

Here are the most common ingredients our patients choose for their AquaGold micro-

infusion treatments:

  • Hyaluronic acid — This adds super hydration, firmness, elasticity, and texture.
  • Growth factors — These stimulate the skin for improved healing, and they help maintain good collagen levels.
  • Pigment reducers — These work to prohibit melanin response, reducing pigmented areas.
  • Vitamins — Vitamin B complex improves the condition of the skin, helps rosacea, acne, eczema, dermatitis, hyperpigmentation, and sun-damaged aging skin. Vitamin C+E complex helps prevent free radical damage, improves skin tone and texture, and enhances skin brightness.
  • Peptides — Peptides provide anti-aging benefits along with skin nourishment.
  • Toxins — Diluted Botox can be added to calm overactive capillaries, shrink pore size, and reduce sebum production. This dilution will not affect muscle contraction, as normal Botox injections do.
  • Fillers — Fillers can be combined with vitamin B complex and growth factors, but choice is important, as many fillers are too thick for the microneedle delivery.

There are also some ready-made formulated serums from AquaGold. Ask us about those if you’re interested.

Advantages Of AquaGold

AquaGold is a microneedle delivery system. It is unlike the traditional dermal roller because it does not roll across the skin. Therefore, there is virtually no risk of micro tears or abrasions. The hair-sized microneedles are coated in gold, making them even less disruptive to the uppermost layer of tissue. The biocompatibility of gold translates into maximum results with minimal redness and swelling.

Each AquaGold treatment is customized to either complement other cosmetic treatments or correct age-related cosmetic concerns. These concerns include fine lines around the eyes, loss of firmness and elasticity, large pores, and discoloration. The delivery tip is tiny and can be used on the face, neck, and chest without discomfort.

In some instances, the serum in the glass vial of the AquaGold delivery system is not completely used during the single treatment. This can be sent home with the patient so they can further enhance their results with a touch-up days after the initial treatment.

AquaGold Vs. Microneedling

Microneedling on its own is an excellent form of collagen induction therapy. AquaGold is a type of mesotherapy, an injection technique that delivers peptides, vitamins or other nutrients into the subcutaneous layer of tissue for more dramatic results.

How Long Does An AquaGold Treatment Take?

These treatments take just 30 minutes in our beautiful offices on Main Street in Lewisville.

Results Of AquaGold Treatment

AquaGold works in two ways: by stimulating fibroblasts to produce more collagen and by delivering particular products into the dermis through fine microneedles. The speed at which results begin to develop varies from one person to another. Some patients notice that their skin looks smoother and more vibrant within 48 hours of their treatment. This is the initial remodeling of existing collagen. These improvements continue to expand as the body supplies new collagen to the treatment areas, and as the healing ingredients fully begin to work within the mesoderm. This process will continue to improve your skin for approximately 3-4 months.

How Many AquaGold Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments that a patient undergoes is a personal choice. Microneedling is gentle on the skin and can be performed every few months. The inclusion of nourishing serums may boost the outcome of a single treatment. They may also help elongate the time in between sessions needed to keep the skin looking its best. After a thorough consultation, we can estimate how many treatments may be necessary. This will be based on the current condition of the skin, the serum selected, and the desired outcome.

Recovery After AquaGold Treatment

There is no downtime necessary to recover from AquaGold treatment. Because this is a microneedling procedure, the skin may appear slightly red. Patients will need to protect their skin from the sun for approximately three days after treatment. However, patients can immediately resume their normal activities after their appointment.

Is There Downtime After An AquaGold Treatment?

There isn’t any downtime. Patients may have some slight redness depending on how sensitive their skin is, but this resolves in from 10 to 60 minutes. You should stay out of pools, saunas, or steam rooms for one day after your session, simply because of the punctures created by the microneedling. Plus, you’ll need to avoid sun exposure for 3 days after your AquaGold session, as the microneedling breaks down some of your skin’s natural sun protection for a few days.
