What is the process from start to finish?
The Preop
Once you have selected a date for your procedure, your preop appointment is set around 2 weeks before your procedure. Prior to your preop, you will receive a secure link to complete your preop paperwork online, including pre and post-operative instructions.
You may choose to have your preop at the practice or from the privacy of your own home. At your preop, one of Dr. Lipton’s registered nurses will review any changes in your health, your preparation for the procedure, medical consent forms, and instructions for after care. You will be prescribed medications and review the list of items you will need while you heal.
The Day of Your Procedure
The day of the procedure you will arrive at Dr. Lipton’s fully accredited, Texas-USA licensed ambulatory surgery center one hour before your scheduled procedure. The facility is adjacent to the practice and conveniently located 20 minutes from DFW International Airport, next to Interstate 35. It is across the street from the Medical City Hospital complex in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville, Texas, USA.
For patients who prefer to have their procedure performed at a hospital, for an additional fee Dr. Lipton also performs plastic surgery procedures at nearby Medical City and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospitals.
Staff, including registered nurses and Dr. Lipton, will prepare you for the procedure. You should be prepared to be at the facility for approximately 3 – 4 hours.
After your Procedure
You will need someone with you for 24 hours from the time you leave the surgical facility. Your first living room or in-office follow up will typically be 1 – 2 weeks after your procedure. However, if you live more than 2 hours away, we ask that you have your first remote (or in office) follow up appointment before you leave the Dallas metroplex.
Depending on your progress after the procedure, your 2nd living room (or in-office) follow up will typically be scheduled 1 – 2 weeks after your first follow up. Depending upon your progress at your 2nd follow up, we may schedule a 3rd or 4th follow at intervals to be determined.
In your post-procedure instruction packet, you will have other instructions regarding permitted activities and regimens.
