Your Face is Asking for Laser Energy

Fractions may have not been your favorite subject in school growing up, but your facial skin loves them. Huh? Yeah, at Dr. Lipton’s our Alma Pixel fractional laser treatments impact just a fraction of your skin’s surface to take years off of your skin.

The procedure is called Pixel Perfect™, and it improves your skin’s texture and tone, minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation.

What is fractional laser treatment?

This isn’t ablative laser resurfacing, where the laser energy literally vaporizes the outer layer of skin. Those treatments can require a considerable recovery period. This is “fractional” resurfacing. The idea behind fractional skin treatments is use the laser to create thousands of microscopic perforations down through the epidermis into the dermis layer of the skin (the layer beneath the epidermis). This sounds extreme, but it’s not. Why? The skin around each perforation remains unaffected by the laser energy, so it immediately goes about healing the tiny holes adjacent to it. The microscopic perforations actually fully heal in just a few hours. Although the perforations are microscopic, the body reacts as if it has been wounded, building new collagen for weeks afterwards to rebuild the skin of the area.

Safer than other treatments

At Dr. Lipton’s we use Alma Lasers for these treatments because they are the most advanced, safest, and most effective in the industry. Pixel Perfect™ delivers dramatic results without the risks involved with CO2 lasers or harsh chemical peels. Plus, the healing time is vastly decreased over procedures that produce similar results.

What skin issues can we treat with Pixel Perfect™?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Large pores
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven pigmentation

Results

With Pixel Perfect, your results are cumulative. The initial perforations help the skin rebuild immediately, and they break down areas with poor texture. But over time the increased collagen production will continue to improve your skin. In subsequent treatments, the results continue to build.

What happens after my treatment?

Immediately after your procedure, your skin will be red and feel as if its sunburned. There may be some slight swelling. All of this passes within three days. Over this same time, there will likely be some light peeling. Patients need to avoid sun exposure for the first few weeks.
