Do I need a Breast Augmentation or Lift?

Each procedure offers its own set of unique advantages. A breast augmentation focuses on the size and shape of the breast and will not correct drooping breasts. Unlike breast augmentation, a breast lift focuses primarily on breast position and will not increase the size of your bust.

Often a breast lift is done in conjunction with breast augmentation so that the breasts can be restored to a more desirable position and size. Having a breast augmentation with a lift, (also called an Augmentation/Pexy), will give you more upper breast fullness, along with repositioning sagging breasts and nipple areas.

Breast Lift Pencil Test

Here is an easy test you can do at home to determine if you need an augmentation alone, or in combination with a lift. Get a pencil, ruler, length of ribbon or string. Put the pencil, ruler, ribbon or string or even a strip of paper beneath your breasts, from breast to breast. In other words, put the pencil (or ruler, etc) underneath, along the crease of your breasts to sort of make a line from breast to breast.

Look at your breasts in the mirror. If your nipples (not the areolas, but just your nipples) are above the top of the line, you need an augmentation (implant). You do not a lift. If the nipple is below the line, then you will need a lift.
